The Institute is a partnership between Cardiac Study Center, MultiCare Regional Heart & Vascular Centers and MultiCare Medical Associates. These organizations share a long history of delivering clinically innovative firsts to the region.
Pulse Heart Institute is the first of its kind in our community and combines the best of private practice with the extensive capabilities of a large health system. It is an integrated, cardiovascular organization to unite cardiac, thoracic, and vascular services into one cohesive unit. This is an onsite position with possible future ability to work from home.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
CPC or CCS coding credentials required. Cardiology experience preferred. EMR, especially Epic, experience highly desired.
Microsoft Office Skills:
Excel – Must have the ability to create and manage simple spreadsheets.
Word – Must be able to compose business correspondence.
Typing – 45+ words per minute.
A criminal background check will be performed upon acceptance of offer of employment.

- Review charts and capture all reportable services.
- Coordinate with other coding staff to ensure all reportable services are captured and assigned to appropriate physician or ARNP.
- Assign all appropriate ICD codes, CPT codes, and modifiers per ICD, CPT, and Medicare published guidelines.
- Review work queues in Epic and resolve coding issues for professional services for both hospital and clinic places of service.
- Reconcile charges monthly to ensure capture of all reportable services.
- Work with business office to resolve hospital billing questions/coding concerns.
- Assist Pulse employees and physicians in providing coding guidance.
- Pull audit reports and back up documentation for internal audits.
